"We combine Termx Replenishment Systems with Termidor for the ultimate termite protection for your home"

Termx Chemical Replenishment System

Each year termites cause more damage to Australian homes than all natural disasters combined.

For most Australians their home represents the biggest financial investment they will make in their lifetime. The last thing you want to see is it eaten out from under you by termites.

Home and Contents Insurance DOES NOT COVER YOU against a termite infestation or the damage they cause.

How can you stop these nasty little devils?

One of the best ways to protect your Gold Coast home from the hidden threat of termites is to have a chemical barrier installed.

What is a chemical barrier?

A chemical barrier, or treated zone as it is also known, is the application of specific chemicals or termiticide’s into the soil that immediately abut the external walls of your home. The chemical creates an invisible “barrier” in the soil around your home that termites have to pass through before gaining access to your home.

Why treat the soil that abuts the building?

Nearly all termite species that threaten homes on the Gold Coast are known as subterranean termites. Subterranean termites live in large underground colonies or nests, which can contain over one million individual termites. From their nest they travel out in the soil in search of food.

Termites from an established nest move out through the soil foraging for food (wood).

              Foraging termites

Once termites come into contact with the underground components of your home like, underground brickwork and foundations, their unimaginable need to feed themselves drives them to search every small crack and crevice in search of food. This often leads them into the external wall cavities of your home where delicious timbers like wall framing, skirting boards and window frames await them.

Termites now have complete access to every concealed area of your walls and roof where they will no doubt feast themselves until human intervention arrives.

Termites tunnel underground and enter your home through small cracks in underground brickwork and foundations.

Treating the soil with Termidor stops termites before they enter your home.

Is it safe for people, pets and the environment?

Termidor has been scientifically developed and stringently tested in Australian conditions, in fact the active ingredient FIPRONIL has been used in household pet products since 1996. Termidor has some of the lowest dose rates of any available termiticide today. Termidor has minimal impact on the environment and is fully approved for use in domestic and commercial situations. Termidor is water based and has no odour, will not leach through soil and is not damaging to soil micro-organisms, earthworms or plants. Only our licensed and experienced technicans handle and use Termidor and our strict safety code of conduct ensures it's applied in a safe manner that won't harm you or your family.

How long does a chemical barrier last?

Termidor has a life expectancy, as tested under Australian conditions, of 8 years. As the Gold Coast is situated in an area of Australia that has frequent extreme weather with a large annual rainfall we recommended that your chemical barrier is replenished every 5 years.

How much does a chemical barrier cost?

The cost of a chemical barrier can range from $1500 to $5000. At every home there is a uniquely different amount of concrete paths and paving and, gardens and grounds that abut the external walls of the building and this will have an effect on the amount of work that is required to install your chemical barrier which in turn will effect the cost.
