   Live termites  Termite Damage

Did you know that termites cause more damage to Australian homes each year than all natural disasters combined?

The damage bill from a termite infestation can quickly add up to ten of thousands of dollars and this is not covered by your home and contents insurance.

One of the easiest and most cost effective ways to ensure your home doesn't get eaten out from under you is to insist on an annual termite inspection. A termite inspection won't stop you from getting termites but it will find them if you do and, if you're having your home checked annually, the damage will be minimised. A termite inspection is also a good way to alert you to any potential risk areas as well as give you sound advice on minimising the risk of a future termite attack.

At LPM we firmly believe in the saying "Your home is your castle" and we know our clients do too. We know when it comes to your home you want the very best for it. So here's a short list on why you should choose us for your next termite inspection:

What is Thermal Imaging?

Having a Thermal Imaging Camera is like having tens of thousands of highly tuned, non-contact thermometers pointing at a surface and producing an easy to understand picture. It is used to scan large sections of internal walls to detect areas of interest not normally visible to the naked eye.

Everything within a wall cavity will have an affect on the surface temperature of the wall (providing it is lined with plasterboard or fibro). By using the Thermal Camera to view the wall we can see all those minute differences of temperature. If we find an abnormal difference of temperature we can use our other tools like moisture meters, electronic listening devices and/or borescope to find out the cause of the difference. Common causes of temperature change are different building materials inside the wall, electrical generated heat, high moisture or leaking areas and in some cases termite infestation as shown below.

This is a picture of a termite sub-nest in wall cavity of a garage. There is no visible evidence of the nest as shown in the digital photo. Without thermal imaging this may not have been detected.

We use a Thermal Imaging Camera on every termite inspection we carry out.

TESTIMONIAL

I first used Luke's Pest Management in 2008 for a termite problem.  We live in the Mudgeeraba hinterland.

Naturally I received other quotes for the work needed. I chose LPM not only because of their fair quote but their CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Since the first job they have been here again for check ups and advice on other issues.

Their CUSTOMER SERVICE has never failed to impress me.

In today's climate one of the areas many companies are very lacking in is CUSTOMER SERVICE.  I have observed this on many occasions; that everyone is in a great hurry, sufficient  information is not given and money seems to dominate before good service.  I believe where you can find a service that not only offers good product, fair pricing, knowledge and customer service then you have a winner.

This has been my experience with Luke of Luke's Pest Management.

He is also willing to spend as much time as needed, not only explaining but imparting knowledge so that you are then able to ask pertinent questions.   He discusses options and is helpful just like in the good old days.

So if you are looking for someone to help you with Pest Management you would be far pushed to find a better outfit.

Sincere regards,

Zoe Richmond
